Extreme Makeover: Home Edition approached Musser Home Builders in 2011, asking us to play a vital role in helping one deserving South Central Pennsylvania family. We assumed full responsibility for the design and build of their renovated home—including planning, organizing, gathering volunteers, and seeking donations. With only weeks to plan and prepare, we were able to effectively and efficiently utilize our resources and community relationships to pull off a complete renovation that dramatically helped the Keefer family in a troubling time.

After a neck injury that left one of the Keefer’s sons, Brian, in a wheelchair, the family’s home no longer fit with the new lifestyle they had to learn to live with. We successfully took the Keefer’s existing home and updated it in a way that allowed Brian and his family to live comfortably at home, while also giving Brian the ability to do therapy while at home. The Keefer’s continue to enjoy living in their home and Brian’s hard work in therapy is paying off!

We are still humbled that we were asked to lead such a huge project. We are grateful to have been given that opportunity and the community support was overwhelming. Thanks to the team effort of the community, many sponsors, and hard work, we were able to accomplish this in one week!
