Get Started

Ready to get started building your new home or improving your current home? We’ve outlined a few easy steps below we take to help guide you through the decision-making process.

Step 1:
Contact us.

Before we meet to talk about your project, we will need some preliminary information from you. Please use the Home Improvement Questionnaire for home improvements or the New Home Questionnaire for new homes. Upon review, we will contact you to discuss your project.

Step 2:
We’ll reach out to you.

Every project begins with a conversation. Soon after receiving your completed questionnaire, we will reach out to you via a phone call to discuss your project further.

We’ll be prepared with our own questions, and we hope you’ll have a few questions for us! We’ll be happy to answer anything you have on your mind. It’s important to have an open discussion about your project goals, your expectations of us, and to talk about general budgets so each of us can be sure we’re the right builder for your project.

Step 3:
Let’s meet.

After our initial phone call, we’ll set up a meeting to dive deeper into the details.

Come prepared with any drawings, sketches, inspirational photos, or other details you’ve been dreaming up! During this collaborative meeting, we will continue to gather information, dream of possibilities, and be a helpful resource answering any home building questions you have.

Step 4:
Planning begins.

At this point, we will have enough information and ideas to put together a Feasibility Study for your project. Our design team will provide you with a basic Conceptual Plan (if needed) and your Project Manager will develop a General Budget Estimate.

Once we discuss the Feasibility Study and mutually agree to move forward, we enter into the Comprehensive Project Evaluation (CPE). That’s a fancy way of saying our team will invest a lot of time into fully developing construction plans, project specifications, structural and mechanical details, and selections of finishes.

During this process, every detail of your project will be determined before construction even begins. We mean that—every detail! This allows for an enjoyable home building experience that is on-budget and on-schedule with zero surprises.

At this stage, we will request a financial commitment to allow us to invest our time and resources into your project.

Step 5:
Activation!

Once you have approved the design and scope of work, we will prepare a contract. The plans, specifications sheet, and contract will be signed by you and Musser Home Builders (if a lender is involved, they will require a copy of these documents). Then, your new project will officially be underway!
